While this film does point out in a lot of ways that the health effects of GMO food and the longterm effects on eco-systems are unknown - I think this film was less about GMO's being bad - and more about asking the question, "Do we want corporations controlling the food we eat?" The fact that companies like Monsanto create crops that then require the purchase of their fertilizer and pesticides - that their crops can unintentionally 'infect' other crops, the crops of farmers that don't want GMO's, that they can then sue those farmers for violating their patent - and ultimately in the end could cross pollinate crops with products like the "Termintor" seed - suggests that we are losing control over the production of the foods that we eat. American farmers are getting run over by Agri-conglomerates for the sake of business - for the bottom line, the dollar and all the while with disregard for human health. This is essentially what happens when business and politics merge, something we're all too familiar with. But are we willing to let this happen in the venue of agriculture - let it effect the food we eat - and in turn enslave ourselves to these greedy corporations that have no eye to the future - only both eyes focused on their bank account.

I think this film is important. I plan on going to see Food Inc. this weekend - we have a lot to learn. Everyone should be informed about the food they eat. I hope you enjoyed this film! Cheers.
